Release Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Release Manager to oversee and manage software releases across digital banking IT systems. The ideal candidate will coordinate with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure to ensure seamless and timely software deployments. A strong grasp of ITIL practices, governance protocols, and modern DevOps methodologies is essential.

  • Collaborate with Development, QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to ensure release readiness and smooth execution.
  • Maintain and publish release calendars, schedules, and communication plans for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL best practices in Change Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management.
  • Conduct and lead release ceremonies including Internal Change Review (ICR), Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, and post-release retrospectives.
  • Track and report Change Requests (CRs) with daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards and reports (including visual data representations).
  • Continuously assess and improve release processes and standards for efficiency, consistency, and risk mitigation.
  • Establish governance frameworks and ensure adherence throughout the release lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of proven experience in Release Management or related roles in IT service/digital banking domains.
  • In-depth understanding of release lifecycle management, governance, and ITIL principles.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional coordination and stakeholder communication.
  • Proficiency in maintaining release documentation, status tracking, and post-release analysis.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience in visual reporting (e.g., charts, dashboards).
  • Ability to handle multiple releases simultaneously with high attention to detail.

Good to Have (Preferred Skills)

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools/practices, and cloud-native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Exposure to automation tools for release tracking and governance (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Jenkins).
  • Certification in ITIL, PMP, or Agile methodologies.
