Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manual Tester with Payments Experience to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in testing payment systems, gateways, and transaction workflows. This role requires hands-on experience in functional, integration, regression, and API testing, with a solid understanding of the end-to-end payments lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and specifications related to payment systems and design detailed, comprehensive test cases.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of payment workflows.
• Validate transactions across credit/debit cards, ACH, digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay), and 3D Secure authentication flows.
• Test APIs related to payment processing, ensuring correct error handling, data validation, and security compliance.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers to clarify requirements and resolve defects.
• Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
• Execute manual test cases and document results effectively.
• Participate in test planning, reviews, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS and other payment security/industry standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing best practices.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in manual testing within the payments domain.
• Hands-on experience testing payment gateways, acquiring/issuing systems, or full transaction lifecycle.
• Familiarity with ISO 8583, SWIFT, or card scheme protocols (Visa, MasterCard) is a strong advantage.
• Good understanding of fraud checks, authorization, clearing, and settlement processes.
• Proficiency in testing REST/SOAP APIs using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools.
• Strong SQL skills for backend data validation.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of automation testing tools (added advantage, but not mandatory).
• Awareness of regulatory compliance in financial systems.
