Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer (8–10 years) to join our dynamic IT team at the GCB5 level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Unix/Linux system administration, shell scripting, Oracle database support, and CI/CD pipeline management using modern DevOps tools. The role will involve managing and automating deployment processes, supporting database and middleware operations, and identifying opportunities to streamline environment activities with zero-touch automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Code Management using CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolsets.
- Automate manual and repetitive operational tasks using Shell Scripting, Control-M, and other automation tools.
- Configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Databases and ensure their optimal performance and security.
- Manage and maintain Linux/Unix-based servers, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- Provide support for middleware products such as WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and IBM MQ.
- Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring high levels of system integrity and uptime.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to deliver integrated DevOps solutions.
- Utilize DevOps tools including Jenkins, GitHub, and others for continuous integration and deployment.
- Support Control-M job scheduling and Connect:Direct (C:D) for secure file transfers.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to move toward zero-touch environment management.
- Provide clear and effective communication via calls and chats with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, System Administration, or related roles.
- Strong expertise in Unix/Linux systems and Shell Scripting.
- Solid experience with CI/CD tools – particularly Jenkins and GitHub.
- Experience in Oracle Database administration – configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of Control-M job scheduler and Connect:Direct (C:D) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of middleware technologies like WAS, MQ, and basic networking concepts.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to be a self-starter and proactively drive automation initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in DevOps, Oracle DBA, or Linux system administration.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is an advantage.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible is desirable.
