Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cognos Developer with 5–7 years of experience in designing, developing, and testing business intelligence solutions using IBM Cognos Analytics (version 11 or higher). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cognos Framework Manager, Report Studio, and Query Studio, along with a solid understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, shell scripting, and production support processes. Knowledge of Cognos administration and DevOps tools is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos Analytics (v11 or higher).
• Build and maintain models using Cognos Framework Manager and develop complex reports using Report Studio and Query Studio.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries; write and maintain PL/SQL code including stored procedures and triggers.
• Analyze business requirements to translate them into effective reporting solutions.
• Participate in full software development life cycle (SDLC) activities including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and testing.
• Write, modify, and maintain Unix shell scripts for automated tasks and batch processes.
• Work with job scheduling tools like Control-M to manage batch processes.
• Provide production support by troubleshooting issues, handling incident tickets, and managing change requests.
• Perform Cognos administration tasks including data source creation, package publishing, report scheduling, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams and use tools such as GitHub and Jenkins as needed.

Required Skills:

• 5–7 years of hands-on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics (v11 or above).
• Strong knowledge of Cognos Framework Manager, Report Studio, and Query Studio.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Experience with Unix/Linux systems and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with batch scheduling tools like Control-M.
• Understanding of incident and change management processes in production environments.
• Basic knowledge of DevOps tools such as GitHub and Jenkins (preferred).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in Cognos administration.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
