Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Java Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting robust data pipelines using Java and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and BigTable. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in building scalable solutions, has a solid understanding of cloud-based development, and is familiar with cross-functional team collaboration—ideally within the banking or a similar regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java-based data pipelines using GCP services such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and BigTable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional pods to gather requirements and implement end-to-end data solutions.
• Optimize data pipeline performance to handle large-scale data processing and ensure system reliability.
• Apply best practices, industry-standard development tools, and coding principles to ensure maintainable and high-quality code.
• Identify, debug, and resolve data pipeline issues in a timely manner.
• Support testing efforts by ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness throughout the pipeline.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud-based data engineering.
• Document processes, technical specifications, and system flows for knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
  
   

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Java Data Engineer, with a strong focus on GCP, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and BigTable.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming, especially in building and optimizing data pipelines for heavy data loads.
• Solid understanding of software development tools, agile principles, and DevOps practices.
• Experience working in or with cross-functional teams (pods), contributing to collaborative project delivery.
• Familiarity with the banking industry or similar regulated domains is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native application development on GCP or similar platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.

Nice to Have:

• GCP Certification (e.g., Professional Data Engineer or Associate Cloud Engineer
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automation in a cloud environment
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes
